Clearing an Isekai with the Zero-Believers Goddess – The Weakest Mage among the Classmates

The early part is golden but when I was reading it got more and more grand, which just made me lose interest.

So many wrong decisions that obviously could have been avoided. When will authors really learn that nerfing a character to keep the story much more thrilling will just do much more harm than good, and quite nothing at all.

The thing I hate most about Japanese novels is how they make every farmer who wants a normal life into a world saving hero. In Korean and Chinese WN they either start small and end small, or the MC has a goal of world domination from start. It's simply infuriating when the author makes some random *ss dude fight a god or something

Well for me that reads webnovels just for fun, it is indeed a bit infuriating. Action with a bit of slice of life and comedy is the go for me. Well I also recommend reading My House Of Horrors, the concept is unique but if you ignore the scares it's quite poor writing honestly with the romance progression ignored. But I still liked it cause I'm just thirsty for horror webnovels.

I've seen it happen multiple times across many genres but oftentimes novels, both not heavy and made by a spider, get boring and super forced in the later chapters. Some books I found that don't have this problem are: Kidnapped dragons So I became a spider, so what? Sacchi serenai rule breaker.

Honestly, while this did massively grow in scale and scope as the story progressed, with the way it started and type of story it is, it had to. I do agree some of the parts of it felt forced/off/hamfisted a bit, but I think the author did a pretty good job of power scaling as the story progressed, as well as keeping things entertaining enough that it doesn't get boring. This story is a 'hero's journey' after all, so starting light and getting heavier as it goes is what should happen. I do like a good slice of life start small end small story just as much as the next guy, but I also enjoy watching a character start small and work his way up to becoming a demigod when the mood takes me. As for the 'being forced towards the end', that's an issue that every story has to deal with, some handle it well, others fail and feel off. When the scale and scope get so big that you can't avoid feeling the railroad towards the end, there's not too much that can be done without drastic rewrites.

What I'm coming about, is that the ending feels too grand. While throughout the book reading feels like nursing, toward the end it becomes a brain surgery

I get what you mean. I mean, the foundation was laid down before all the big stuff happened, but it still did seem to go from half throttle to full bore pretty damned fast. I feel that it's more of a timing issue than anything; with the events around Noel and the Light Hero's wedding and Calamity Witch thing happening right when we start feeling things settling a bit, it hits weirdly sudden even if it was all foreshadowed in the previous 30 chapters or so.

I also think that it's because he was alone during the ending. Put a spoiler tag btw
