Poison tester here, RIM is the kind of novel you read when you're looking for something new. Our mc isn't a regressor, but uses his skill to identify one. If we think orv terms, our mc is 20x more conniving and cruel than KDJ, and the regressor is 100x more pure than YJH. Mc doesn't know the future in any way, and has to play every scenario he finds himself in by the ear using current resources and the tells created by his naive regressor, all the while uncovering the mechanics of how this world and the gods/demons operate, as well as what the heck happened in his regressor's first turn. He does have a harem, but it's more comedic than annoying and he doesn't love them at all because the novel focuses on his manipulative tactics and how he makes a name for himself and his companions in the world, while hiding his "evil" side from said companions.

If I read the manhwa do I need to start from the beginning of the nivel or is the adaptation decent and I can just go to chapter ~117?

From the beginning, the manhwa just removes too much of kiyoung's messed up but cool plots. It also trims the story a bit too much imo so ch1 start is my recommendation.

I remembered reading this half a month ago, and dang, this is such a unique novel where you can actually connect with the mc. The great thing I loved about this novel is Lee Ki-young's fresh personality as well as his character development as well. Overall, I'll give it a 7.9/10 review, only because I didn't finish it for some reason, so I can't give a proper gauge on its overall ranking.

You need to finish it, the ending is too OP.

not really, you can get what happens at the end, and there are side stories that continues the story which is still ongoing for some reason like there are 800+ side stories [no translations] lol

I know it is just fujoshi bait, but still it is uncomfortable for me personally. Compare to ORV, the teasing and the hinting of the MC and their MC partners in RIM is too much. They just shove it in to your face, unlike ORV which is subtle and just can be dismissed as a joke. The author makes an effort to shove it in your face that the MC and his partner MC, kim hyunsung can be a romantic partner, especially since their is magic to change genders, it is so blatantly obvious what the authors are going for. And though, yes, our MC does have a harem, most of the time he is the one being dominated by his own harem. He even gets reverse r*p*d. The story itself is bad, i just dont like the author's blantant BL hinting, it's annoying. And another point, why does our MC stick with kim hyunsung? Unlike ORV where kim dokja knows that Yoo Junghyuk is the MC, in this story there is none. He can do well by himself.

      1. He follows hysung because he has a future knowledge from being a regressor and sees his crazy stats 2. Don't compare it to orv, orv strays away from all romance period for better or worse . And regresor instruction manuel was on of the inspiration for orv. Sure orv is way better but pointed out how orv did better is kinda dumb. You can drop it but don't review it as bl or anything

He won from the first round did he not? Is that not the reason why Hyunsung went back, because he FKING KILLED HIM? And the fking god that turned the clock back is fking dead, the payment for giving hyunsung a second chance. Hyunsung can die, he can easily live without him. His future knowledge don't mean sh*t, if time and time again, our MC shows that he can handle himself. He fking made a hierarchal kingdom, into a democratic one, WITHOUT HYUNSUNG. Are u saying he needs him? And the story it self, cannot be called absolute trash, it's decent.

Do you really not see them hinting BL? They shove it to your faces all g*dd*mn time its annoying. The wife annecdotes, the magic s*x change, and all their "hintings". I'm not saying that ORV is better storywise because that is obviously the case, I'm saying that ORV did a better job at "hinting" or trying to attract BL or fujushi fans, this can be proven by most of the g*dd*mn audience of ORV are fans shipping Kim dokja and yoojunhyuk. There are a sht ton of fanart of this ships, and these fanarts further increase the publicity of ORV. It is obvious that RIM is trying something similar. But instead of subtlety, they opted for straight to the point, on to you faces scenes. THEY IS A LITERAL MAGIC THAT CAN TURN U INTO THE OPPOSITE GENDER! AND FKING BOTH OF THEM AT ONE POINT BECAME A GIRL AND "INTERACTED" WITH THE OTHER. Are u not seeing the implications? Are seriously telling me that u do not see the author's intention?
