Chapter Lenght: 1700 - 2000 words but usually are even longer
Warning: The MC is not an hero nor an anti-hero. He is a broken, cynic and misanthropic person looking only for his own gain. If you are looking for a forgiving, nice, MC that goes around saving people in distress, this is not your cup of tea.

The light novel legit ruined my mood and perspective on light novels. The MC is sociopath. The author tries to justify this based on "trauma" but at this point I'm tired of these "trauma" copes. The MC is a villain.

He isn't really a "villain" But you have a fair good point. Author keep using trauma card just to rollback any character development the mc has after every arc (~). Read upto 1.2k chaps b4 dropping of predictable boredom The story is good but the use of 1 predictable technique (what i said above) left me bored But it was fun. I give it a solud 5/10. Right in the middle lf the scale

This is a rant. Why is this novel still going on? The author should finished it ages again and frankly the plot doesn't have enough juice for streching the novel this long. The author literally doesn't know how to write character romance without it being cringe. My honest opinion that lith after reaching white core should have become the the seventh guardian and cleanser of Mogar.

If anyone wants to know, Lith just advanced to the Brilliant Violet Core in chapter 2714 It took a while, but it finally happened

I would say the plot and arcs are well done with a good amount of foreshadowing. There is no moments for me that feel like filler or non essential

why does it seem like every novel has a great start but many tend to go astray in-between causing readers to drop them

    • ChillFire 10

I drop at 1.2k cuz authors use same formula and just walk back any mc character development using the trauma card Bu twas fun

There could be several reasons for this, for example the author could have let himself put so much effort into the novel, he could have run out of good ideas, his decisions were not the right ones.

OK I am team Kamila because she accepted Solus I do love Phoria but she could not live with sharing lith the reason i dropped this novel for a while because i did not love how lith just became a bit soft i like him because i thought he would be a lesser version of Shang from sword god in a world of magic

I left this after 38 chapters, don't ask because I don't remember what it was due to, well, maybe boredom, but a year passed and this doesn't bring back any memories.

Numerous novels have succumbed to the pitfalls of poorly crafted romance; does this novel, too, share that unfortunate fate?

The mc us just edgy and author destroyes any character development buildup he have and rolls him back to edgy at end of arcs. Read upto 1.2k chapters But it was fun

Some more spoiler-y stuff: A lot of people hate on the eventual wife (Kamila) because she’s neither the first girl (Solus, arguably) nor the second girl (Phloria), but rather the third girl who came a little out of leftfield and initially seemed like she would just be an in-between girlfriend. Unlike 1 & 2, she possesses very little combat power or magical utility – for large parts of the novel, she’s fairly brave & competent, but essentially powerless. What she does help a lot with, however, is the MC’s emotional growth, which neither the first girl (since she’s too close to him, literally living in his head and sharing his feelings all the time) nor the second girl (who rejected him when he opened up) were able to. I actually liked that he didn’t end up with the one who seemed like the “destined” one (both to the readers and him), even though she ran away, but rather the one who faced their own insecurities and stuck around / came back when it got tough.

Some stuff without hard spoilers: The author has tried to do some more adult and messy relationships – where trust, hurt, break-ups, and trauma play a big role. Your mileage may vary as to whether he succeeded. I personally appreciated the author at least trying for some more nuanced relationship stuff, even if the execution/resolution didn’t always stick the landing for me. TL;DR: Aimed high, had some misses, still much better than a lot of what passes for romance in action / weak-to-strong / isekai / reincarnation novels.
